CAVITIES DON’T SCARE US !
We use dental fillings to restore teeth damaged (tooth decay). Dental caries are caused by microorganisms that convert sugars in food to acids which erode the enamel of a tooth, creating a hole or cavity. We cleans out the decayed part of the tooth and fills the opening with an artificial material (a filling) to protect the tooth’s structure and restore the appearance and utility of the tooth.
TYPES OF TOOTH FILLING
The most common and strongest filling material is amalgam. It is a silver filling that is usually placed on the rear molars which endure more stress during chewing. Amalgam fillings—used for large, deep cavities—are strong and very resistant to wear. Amalgam has been in use since 1833
Gold fillings or inlays are created outside of the mouth by a dental technician and then cemented into place. They are also used to fill the back molars. Gold fillings are very durable. Like amalgam, however, they are not as aesthetically pleasing as tooth-colored fillings
Cone Beam CT Scan is the epitome of dental engineering. It provides precise 3D view of the teeth which helps in precise diagnosis and treatment planning of implants, orthodontics and impacted teeth while being completely safe for use on all kinds of patients.
STOPS THE CAVITY FROM GROWING
When you get a filling, we will clean out the decayed part of your tooth. He/she will then pour in the filling material, sealing the hole created by the cavity. That protects the nerve endings in your dentine from being exposed to the temperatures of the foods you eat and acids created by the bacteria in your mouth. It is the exposure of these nerves that often leads to toothaches when you have cavities.
IMPROVES THE STRUCTURE OF THE TOOTH
Composite fillings help to improve the structure of your tooth. Instead of the tooth being hollowed out by the cavity, the filling will give it much needed support. Fillings are temporary solutions, so there is no damage done to your tooth during its application.
STRENGTHENS FRACTURED TEETH
Fillings can be used to repair a fractured tooth. A white composite is often used for this purpose. One of your teeth can become fractured due to oral trauma from physical activities like sports or an accident. Your teeth can also become fractured when you chew on hard things like ice or hard candies
TOOTH FILLINGS CAN IMPROVE THE COLOR OF YOUR TEETH
Composite fillings are often applied to teeth that are badly-stained and discolored. Your teeth can become stained as a result of the things you consume like coffee and red wine. Bad habits like bruxism can also lead to your teeth losing their natural color
